Another shot of my Buffleheads from the fish hatchery. They were constantly on the move and diving. When they were successful they would come up with a crayfish. These two were diving together and one got the prize. She instantly had a friend who spotted the dinner. However, sharing was not an option.

As they dive and feed on the opposite side of the pond, the BG is not that attractive. I opted to crop this one in a pano to lessen the distracting BG.

Canon 1D, 500mm L IS, 2X TC, 550 EX, BB, shot from car window
ISO 320, ss 1/400, f/11, EV - 1/3, ff -2
PS - cropped from a horizontal, USM, levels, etc.

I love how the one on the right seems to be asking "Pretty please?" :D

Great behavior shot. I'm jealous of your bufflehead shots.

I just spent two days trying to get close to Buffleheads - they are among the tougher ducks to photograph. Well done.

Very nice, Lana.

You handled it quite well. We have some around here that I'm going to have a shot at this weekend if it doesn't rain.

Lana,

Nice work with these two ladies. I like how the rear bird is focused on the food. You always appear to have a nice low angle when shooting from your car.

Must be a Lamborghini with the tires intentionally underinflated. But even if not, great image!

I wish it were a Lamborghini but it is a sports car. The good news is that I'm pretty low which helps. The bad news is that it's really difficult to get the camera/lens/flash/BB off the passenger seat, up, and out the window. I've already broken one BB in the process.
