Hi all,

Juanli and I are settling into our new home 2600m up in the mountains of South West China. Today I climbed the scrubby hills north of town and got this Bunting..not perfect, but at nearly 3000m having cycled for an hour and lugging gear!!! well.....enough said...

You get sunlight in China ;-) You guys are always complaining about how gray it is there.

A very nice image Alister. I'm not sure if it is my monitor here at work, but I see a halo around the head - unless I'm seeing what is actually the background.

Regards,

Terry

And a pretty fancy species, too, one I've only read about !

Nice shot Alister. Great looking bird. Did you blur the BG?

The perch is superb!
I would be tempted to say that you applied Gaussian blur to the bg.. please tell me I'm wrong..
The high contrast is making the chest a little too bright, so maybe you could tone the image down a notch or two..
this is a beautiful bird and I'm glad you got a chance at it... thanks for posting!

Beautiful Alister! Love the branch and the BG, they complement the bird nicely.
