These little fellas just keep coming through. Hope you're not
tired of them yet. I was forced into a very tight crop by the
very busy background, whose hue is too near
to that of the bird; I know it detracts from the shot. :(
I tried to reduce the distraction by masking off the bird
and applying some gaussian blur to the background.

Anyway, I just love the pose and eye contact. Let me know
if there's anything I could do to improve it...

Very interesting pose Emil. It looks a bit soft on the head, but I imagine it was moving fairly quickly.

I really like the idea you had, but I agree it's a bit too tight in the frame. Love the pose, though. A touch more USM might help the head.

Very cool. Nice you got his yellow on top. Well you did the blur thing, and thats probably what I would have done, but It looks like you could use more separation between the subject and the backround. maybe you could get the bird and his jungle gym a little sharper. Have you tried photokit sharpener by pixel genious? Kim and I are both using it now and we're finding that we are having to go back on our pictures and resharpen them because of the better results we get. Maybe do a little darkening on the backround and lightening on the birds white, that should help make him pop a little more. This is so unusual when I opened it up I thought it was turned sideways. You might also do a mask and kick up the saturation of the foreground vegetation also. This is a great shot. :)
