I love that sassy look and what awesome detail you captured! I'd prefer this if the perch were on an angle, or if it had poison sumac berries  but still think it's a great image Chris!

Like the detail and sharpness, Chris!
Like Kim, was thinking of a better angle for the perch though ...

OK folks, bring out your best kinglet shots!! For crying out loud this is killer!
Far better than I've seen here before! Who cares about the perch angle!!
These guys don't sit still for long as you know and getting something like this is extraordinary!
Sometimes the comments here amaze me!
Congratulations Chris!

Chris, this is one of my photo nemesis birds. There have been some good ones posted lately but this one is like the nail in the coffin. Grrr! :) The detail is so sharp it slices (hmm... echoes of 80's Bryan Adams lyrics in the background...). You got the focal plane l-to-r, the eye, the crown, and a clean BG. Way to go!

Great photo! You got him to sit still and you can see his crown perfectly. I see many of them in winter, but all of my photo attempts result in portraits of empty perches :(

Regards,
Mike

I guess what I should have said was that this is a killer image for a field guide but artistically I think it would be much better with the perch on an angle.

Well done, Chris; not many people have anything nearly this good of this species on hand.

Very nice, Chris!!
The pose is great. Kinglets are tough and you've nailed this guy. Good to have the colorful crown patch visible too.
