Migrating hawks aren't the only thing at Hawk Ridge. There's a constant presence of sparrows and chickadees, taking advantage of the feed laid out for them. The best conditions to shoot these little buggers is probably early mornings on clear days when the light is direct and there aren't lots of people making them skittish.
Black Capped Chickadee 10D, 1-4IS, handheld, no flash perhaps 10% trimmed from the left and top, curves, and some blurring of the grass on the lower left to reduce the distraction it made. The BG is a tad busy, but I think the bird stands out enough to keep the two separate. I like the inquisitive, jaunty angle the head is at - a trademark of these guys. Cheers, -matt NSN 0017
