The second image is the full frame version, which I cropped to remove the OOF legs. Do you prefer this image over the cropped one????

By laying on the beach and not moving, this Snowy came within a few feet of me. The trick is to be able to locate the subject, focus and capture the image before it moves on. Slight crop on the botton, but basically full frame.

Fuji S2 Pro, 500mm lens and 1.7X, Ground Pod and Wimberley Head
1/500 @ f8, ISO 200

There is Snowy Plover on the beach at Estero that was banded on Sanibel in 2003, sighted at Estero the same year, which I reported.

Please enjoy thIS close up portrait of one of our adorable little plovers.

Hugh

Beautiful bird and excellent done on the white and the detail, Hug.

(I'm so sorry I can't come this year to FL)

Very nice portrait Hugh! :) I wish for a bit more room at the bottom. A bit more PS work is needed to remove the cloning line from the back..

Incredible detail in this one Hugh. Why not try to crop a touch off the top (just a thought).
Awesome shot!

Nice one Hugh. I would like to see the bird higher in the frame.

Sweet close up, Hugh. Glad you got the banding info. I like the two dark feathers that stick out

WRONG, Fab. You forgot that early last year I was promoted to the exalted position of FOM (Filthy Old Man); Alfred is still a DOM!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugh,

Very nice shot. You sure were close. I think I like the one without the legs better. If you had time, it might have been interesting to try a vertical to include the feet (cutting off the bird behind the legs since you wouldn't fit the whole bird in the frame).
