Not the most exciting bird, but I thought this shot with it's chick was kind of cute! OK, the chick is downright ugly! LOL Taken on a recent trip out west.

Richard, irregardless of the commonality of the Coot, this is a great picture with them almost touching beaks.

I agree with the crop suggestions.
