I don't recall seeing one of these guys on NSN before. I found him on the beach in Pacific Grove, CA recently.

For you avian trivia buffs, the wandering part of the name comes from the fact that it migrates very long distances and frequently shows up in places way outside its normal range. I assume the tattler part of the name comes from the loud calls it makes when disturbed.

Enough for the lesson - I retired from teaching in 2004.

1DII with 500 and 2X TC, ISO 400, 1/640, f8.

Thanks for looking.

Nice one Bruce. Part of me doesn't like the background, part of me likes it for the habitat shown.

Bruce,

The pose with the head turn couldn't be better. Very nice shot.

Bruce:

I like the enviromental flavor. King High School lost a great chemistry teacher when you retired. My second daughter will not be as lucky as the fisrt one.

Wow, a stunning portrait. What a pose. Sharp and it really pops off that blurred background. I have seen tattlers here in San Diego, but they are fairly rare. You nailed it. :)

Thanks,

Lovely shot Bruce! :) Great pose, colors and exposure! BG is great except for the dark oof area near the chest which is a bit distracting.
