Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) – Essex, UK.
Canon EOS 1D MkII, 600/f4 IS, EF 1.4x II + wimberley head. Manual exposure mode f9, 1/1000s, iso 400, AWB. RAW image processed in Capture One; luminocity sharpening in Photoshop CS2 (amount = 100 percent; radius = 0.2; threshold = 0 applied four times); full frame. Shot from a portable blind at a local wetland that I have installed now the birds have finished nesting. Just hope it doesn't get vandalized, which is what happened last year. Phil Shaw Phil Shaw
