I'm curious what people think about this shot. The relatively harsh light adds the added geometry of the triangular shadow, which in a way I like. Sorry if you're all sick of loon shots - I'll get something new this week.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Its a great habiitat shot, and the clear reflection is super. The triangular shadow does not do much for me either way, and I would like just a touch more light on the eye.

Love the reflection, and the harsh light was handled well here. Doubt that I'll ever be sick of Diver images, especially as good as this.

I'm not keen on the hard triangular shadow personally, but that's only my opinion.

The shadow doesn't do much for me but I do like the bit of habitat included.

Agree that the light could be better. Still it's a nice habitat shot, Peter!

I don't mind the triangle but feel that the mid-tones need darkening. I could never get tired of loons and like the environmental aspect of this one, Peter.

Great nest image Peter. I personally don't like to shoot when a bird's bill casts a shadow on its breast, it usually means the light is too high in the sky.

As I look at more, I'm inclined to agree that the shadow isn't a plus. And the mid-tomes do need darkening. Thanks for the comments!

But you produced a fine image under such harsh conditions, Peter. Like the reflection.
