Young Male American Kestrel

This is from last month. June was a great month for capturing images of young raptors. This little guy had been flying around the nest site for a day or two and was at the top of a dead cottonwood tree. Taken with stacked converters. A little steep angle but the quality is still good.

Canon 20D, 500F4, 1.4x, 2XII, ISO 200, 1/500 sec, f13, evaluative +1/3

Angle is a little steep, but the look back makes this work well.

Would consider a slight saturation boost & a little more sharpening, but not much of either.
