Common Loon, Kamloops, BC. Canon 500mm f/4 L IS lens with 2X II TC and EOS 1D Mark II. ISO 400. Evaluative Metering -2/3 stop: 1/500 sec. at f/11.

Framing at point blank range from a moving boat with a swimming daddy loon is not easy. I clipped the bill-tip here, but was enthralled with the detail so I added canvas and gave the bird a bill tip.

All comments welcome. Best and love to all, artie
ps: See you when I get back from Galapagos.

The ability to add the tip of the beak is what digital is all about. Wonderful shot.

Killer headshot and great PS work. Artie, I know this is not a photograph but an ink drawing, as I can see where you left a blob of ink on the bill near the nose. :D

Very majestic looking with the black head, that beautiful red eye with the golden line around it and the gold/copper colors in the bill. A beautiful portrait! 8)
