For post #3000 I thought I'd show one of my backyard buddies. The quail have paired off and we expect to see this years crop of youngsters within about a month.

D70, 600 & 1.4xTC, Tripod, Wimberley, ISO 200

Beautiful shot, Alan. Fine detail and low angle. Wouldn't mind the bird closer to the right edge of the frame.

Alan, this is very nice. I too would like the bird further right in the frame. If shutter speeds allowed it, stopping down for more DOF would be ideal.

You sure have better looking yard birds than I do.....trade you a couple hundred starlings for one of these. Love the colors and that look you're getting. Hope you get some shots of the "kids" to show us. Nice job!
