After shooting the Kites on sunday with blue sky, I returned to the Bolsa Chica Mesa on monday with grey sky... I know that many are not fond of hikey images, but as they say "You have to take what the day gives you". Nevertheless, something about the hikey bkrd and the white bird appeals to me.

MkII, 400/5.6 + 1.4x, Manual @ f8, 1/1000, Iso 800

I like it Vince. Doesn't the Mk II auto focus with the 1.4x on the 400/5.6?

Great capture Vincent on a day where you could have gotten nothing. The blow out works well for me.

I love this one as well. Very good! Perfect timing

Richard: I think he means manual exposure...

Really quite beautiful. The outstretched talons and wing/tail positions are really the 'key' to this one. :D

Perfect exposure; great detail in the wings; what's not to like. The weather shouldn't keep us from shooting, ever!!

I like the white bird white sky, very "painterly" quality to it. The outstretched wing and fanned tail is a nice touch. Could probably crop a bit off the right. :D
