Tweaked the whites and added a tad to the bottom--but I liked the comments.

One of my many Surfbird shots from last fall. I like the way this one seems to be puffing its chest and the OOF mussel bed in the back. After watching them get battered by waves I can see how they got their name and why they are stockier than other shore birds.

Nicely done, Steve, I too wish for a tad more on the bottom. Super BG.

I'd say the white is a bit hot ...
Actually I love the busy bg in this one and the tight framing, Steve!

Those legs and feet look more robust as well. Lovely shot.

Very cute; the lozenge-camo bkgd is weird but cool.

Great looking Surfbird Steve. This is one of my target species every time I go down to La Jolla to shoot shorebirds in the tidepools. You mentioned you were there on Sunday, I was there from sunrise to about 10:30 am shooting Pelicans on the cliffs then some tame Godwit on the south end, the car show didn't bother me a bit. :)

Wonderful shot, Steve. The bird is great, but I'm ambivalent about the BG.
