I wish the head was turned a bit more, but I only got one chance at this.

This is a pretty image, I love the bug in the mouth and the perch coming down from the top.
I like the green foliage in the background but the strong background pattern of having the blue sky mixed in is distracting. The bird is also quite centered. My suggestion would be to crop this as a vertical, taking off most of the right side and a bit from the left. I think this would simplify the background considerably.
My 2 cents anyway- I think the bird is quite lovely.

Beautiful image John! I agree with going vertical but I do love this image just as it is too!! I especially like the way the perch cradles the bird. 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

I agree with you about the head. The bill and what's in it (an ant..?) look a bit cluttered. But otherwise I like this very much. The combination of colours is lovely. I also like how that branch the bird is sitting on leads into or out of the image. Therefore I would personally prefer this in this format instead of a vertical.

Very nice photo. I agree with Cindy on the vertical crop.
