Yes Kim, Scooter!

This was literally like my last shot from the barnegat trip. Just as we began to get ready to leave this guy flew in. I missed the real landing but got this instead. I really like the wake.

That's quite a wake he's leaving behind. 2 knots faster and there would be a rooster tail! Very cool shot.

Nicely done. He is creating a lot of water movement for a little guy

Chris,

I'll trade you 3 pounds of grosbeaks for 1 harlequin!

I like the wake also. A nice sharp image. We don't have this spp of duck over here.

Nice shot! That motion in the water is great!

Really? I guess they don't go so far south... You can find them, however, in places like Montana and Idaho.

Here in the Canadian Rockies, it's pretty easy to find them in the summer--particularly early in the summer. They're a lot more common than some conservationists would have us believe.

Chris,

This is an excellent shot. Love all the moving water and the pose with the head turn. The colors look great, especially for the type of day you had. Well done.

Beautiful bird, nice catch with the head turned and a glimpse of the eye....quite a wake. I'd probably crop it tighter and put the bird more center.

I thought about a tighter crop but wanted to leave all of the wake in front, and have him enter diagonally.

Wonderful action. Very sharp for having just landed and all the commotion in the water. Good work.

Interesting shot Chris--a lot of turbulence for a relatively small bird.
