This is very well done. Maybe a kiss of fill would have added some more light on the head feathers but not necessary. Great composition.

The red eye and bill really jump out at you in this otherwise muted image. Gotta love that wild hairdo too. I like the pose with the bird coming toward us but with the head turned.

Awesome shot Jeff. I'm jealous, the only decent RB merganser shot I got at barnegat was on a rock (not neccesarily a bad thing) and had really ugly plumage.
