Before leaving for Israel(got back yesterday), I went to Legg Lake with Jim Probst to look for the Hooded Mergansers which he had photographed earlier in the week. No Hooded Mergansers, but two pairs of Mandarins.

A handsome dude Richard. I wish the tail wasn't so close to the right side but it's not a big deal. A little oversharpened on my monitor.

I know where you took this--excellent shot Richard. Hope you had a great time in Isreal!

BTW, I went back two days later and found the Hooded Mergansers and got a few decent shots.

Wow, this is sweet. Love the rich brown tones of the water and bird. Great shot Richard.

Gorgeous bird, sweet light, Richard. I wish only for a bit more room on the right, but that's minor.
