Don't see too many nocturnal bird shots here so I thought I'd put one in. We just have the one species of nightjar in Britain, a migrant that turns up in early Spring and in a good year will have three broods of 2 chicks. Males churr from several regular song perches and to find one usually requires finding the nest first.
I can't remember full specs apart from EOS1n 600F4 F11 (?) Provia 100 rated 200, Single Metz CT64 off-camera plus Metz teleflash fired remotely with lens pre focussed.

This is an amazing bird photo in my book. Love the raised wing. The tree in the corner is a nice touch. Well done George.

Wow. Fantastic to get one with the wings up. I like him in his habitat.

Right now I am packing up the contents of my house and I have already packed away my library. I'm almost sure the latin name is Caprimulgus caprimulgus but then I wouldn't bet money on it.

However I'm sure there is someone out there who will come to my rescue?

Stunning, George. If it were mine, I'd probably crop the empty space about half way down to the wing.

Yeah pictorially agreed - but you never know what magazine editors are online and looking for their next front cover!
