Great one, Judylynn. A sora in the open is a difficult feat. The fireflag leaf makes a good perch.

Never seen one of these at Wakodahatchee standing on the fireflag! Usually they're on the ground and they don't show very well against the muddy backgrounds. Good shot.

:D :D :D Excellent image overall. The bird is a difficult catch as it is, but to get it in that marvelous backdrop of lovely green leaves is incredible.

One of the best Sora shots I've ever seen! The fanned wing raises it a notch too. Nice catch!

Thanks for showing this bird that I haven't seen before, Judy!

The large leaves blend in well. I can just see the head is less sharp compares with its wing feathers. At a slow 1/60s I think you're pushing it a bit ...

The pose is fantastic. Looks like the focus point is a bit too far into the bird leaving the head a bit soft.

I love the fact you got him open and as others have said that fireflag makes a really nice backdrop. Agree the head is not as sharp as the body. Very nice anyway.

Great shot aside from the head being a little soft. These guys are tough to get in the open and this is nice and clean.

Ditto. Love the fireflag leaf as the perch.
