Taken yesterday at Bolsa Chica. There are 4 chicks in this family, but #4 wouldn't move into the frame. These chicks are about 4 wks old and are beginning to show evidence of their black-necked coloration... and, yes, I do take images of birds other than Stilts... just got to take what you can get when you can get it! I liked the "family" aspect of the image.

After looking at the post, I decided to rotate slightly.

Your the chick man Vince! I like the pano on this one. I was at Bolsa this morning but it was overcast and ended up being a good day for a hike but not much else.

Hi Vince,

Oh boy are these guys cute. If I had an opportunity of these birds I would certainly be taking advantage of the situation as well. :)

I like the rotation and the pano crop works well here. Cute with 2 going one way and the 3rd going the other! I wish for a bit lower point of view.

Vince, the birds facing out each end make this shot for me. Nice one.

Very nice; like the asymmetry of facing away. One question. Any reason for using ISO 640? (Especially when you're at 2500?)

Rich,
The reason for the 640 ISO is that I had been doing flight images of Skimmers trying to stop action... and I forgot to change settings after leaving the north spillway and starting to walk back to the parking lot... saw these little guys just before the bridge and started stalking them and never thought about the settings ( just made one shot and looked at the histogram). In other words.. there was no reason
