Taken at Barnegat Light, NJ. The whites are toasted & would have preferred the light over my left shoulder but I was still in good position for this shot. I have a frame with the Drake's wings up but this frame is a little sharper.

Thanks for looking, all comments appreciated.

Lovely pair in flight. I would be happy to have this one, cooked whites and all. :)

This is lovely, I don't even notice the whites! So sharp, nice comp, and that pretty sky to set off the lovely colors of the drake. I like this a lot.

Ed,

Great shot... possible to rescue the green graduations in the male mallard's head?

Super shot, Ed. IMO the exposure is right on. Occasionally you have to give up the whites for the rest of the colors, and this is such an occasion.

To me, the hot whites are immaterial. This is a spectacular image. Congratulations.
