Not sure what kind of bird this is - it's big, some sort of crane I'm guessing. Taken at the Fort Worth Zoo

I'm pretty sure its a Wattled Crane - a South African bird.

Nice shot, Trey. The whites are a bit overdone. Less EV combined with fill flash might have done the trick.

Beautiful portrait. I have seen these at our Wild Animal Park and agree that it is a Wattled Crane. Nice texture and detail throughout.

Wonderful portrait!! I agree that it is a Wattled Crane. I'm seeing some detail in the whites so I suspect they show hot due to post processing - easily fixed.

Yes its a Wattled Crane. We saw them in Botswana last year - but never as close as this, they were much too flighty!!

Very nice to see a close up of one! Good shot too! 8) 8) 8) :)

A wonderful head shot. The colors are wonderful. I agree with the others on the whites.....which I think could be fixed as I, too am seeing some detail.

Great comp and I love all the red. Not usually a huge fan of black BGs, I love the way the bird stands out against the BG here. Very nice!
