D1X, 300-800mm @ 800mm, ISO200, 1/500 @f5.6
Shot some 700ft above sea level in the beautiful Upper Wye Valley in Wales United Kingdom.
Whilst this image has a busy background and many will undoubtedly dislike it, I feel that the small amount apple blossum really adds to the overall feel of the image and sets the scene rather well. I had previously posted this in the European forum but as it remains one of my very favourite images of this striking raptor I thought I'd share it here as well.

John. I think this is awesome. I think it could handle a little off the right and I might tweek it in curves to brighten it up a bit. But it looks great as is too.

A fine image, John. The banking posture and apple blossoms are the most important elements of the image for me.

Wonderful flight image. The diagonal says action as does his gaze and placement in the composition. Very nice.

Oh my...wonderful flight image. Love the diagonal and the broad tail. I might suggest cloning out the dark spot by its face and a tiny crop off the right side. Both very minor nits John, a truly memorable image.

Great Image in every square cm. I love the birds head and wing position. The tail is even well fanned and displayed. The blossoms and background look as if you have studied under Monet. CONGRATS!!!!

This is an excellent shot.....the detail and colors are superb. I can see where a little cropping would work but it is certainly a winner like it is.
