When there is not much going on at Jamaica Bay, there is always something to find.

This was taken with EOS3, 500MMf/4 IS, 1.4TCxII, 37MM of extension, 550EX at -2/3, Evaluative metering at 0. Don't recall the exact exposure, but I remember stopping opening up for more DOF.

Please let me know what you think.

A nice portrait of this little fellow (lady?) Looks like you picked a good DOF as the bird is nicely sharp and the bg is well out of focus. I'd wish for just a bit more room on the left but the tail is all there so ok as is!

Wonderful morsel and pretty good exposure, nice detail as well, nice perch, nice BG and the OOF vegetation below it's chest don't bother me much!! Congrats!! 8)

Superb image Chris...... I would consider cloning the dark bg sticks? on the lower right of the bird, they tend to draw a bit of attention. Congratulations
