 Of the five days I spent in Helgoland in 2002, only one morning was evenly overcast, more like a blanket of fog was covering the Island, the winds were blowing hard as evidenced by the crumpled chest feathers on this bird, some of the best light that I have seen for contrasty birds!! The technicals are buried in some 45+ CD's around the house, but this much I recall: D1x, Raw, Centered weighted metering, aperture priority f/2.8, SS-unknown, Auto White balance and ISO-400, No flash was used, Almost lost my BB in the gusty wind!!
