I spent the last 2 days with Alex and Sandy and Jim Neiger. This adult limpkin and a juvenile with a deformed leg were most cooperative as were some caracaras when we finally found them.

10D, 100-400IS, 1.4x, ISO200. Ev-1, cropped about 25%.

Comments and reposts welcome.

Very nice shot, Jim. I really like the pose and the water drop is a big plus. :)

Lovely shot, Jim. When I get to downloading my files, I expect to have a similar one. The image may need a CCW rotation.

Great to finally meet and shoot with you. I enjoyed the company of both Jims.

Lovely image, with the very dark background really giving depth to the subject, and the little droplets giving it life and movement. I have a few shots of limpkins myself, and from what I gather they're not all that common. Nicely done.

Hi,

Jim,

this is a great Limpkin pic. It looks like the light was kind of harsh, but you've captured him (her?) in action! I took the liberty of rotating it and also converting to sRGB because I thought the colors looked more limpkin like. The rotation nailed your copyright so I typed it back on. I hope that's okay with you-- I have never reposted someone's image before.

Jim,

This is a very nice shot. I like the way the bird stands out against the dark background.
