Great Gray Owl
Captive
EOS300D, Sigma 100-300 F4 + 1.4TC, ISO 400, 1/50 @ F8 -1, 550EX + BB -1

I always admire the beautiful images of these wonderful Owls when posted in this forum. Unfortunately we can only see them in captivity over here, but I took this shot at the weekend because this was such a gorgeous bird.

All comments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

Gorgeous indeed Carol and the expression is priceless. An image that grabs your attention and makes you keep looking at it. Great Carol

Carol, captive or not this is wonderful. I do not think I have ever seen a more detailed close up head shot of a Great Gray.

Best,

The bird looks funny with its' eyes set so close together. I love all the detail here, just fantastic. And dare I say it? I actually like the square crop (way against my norm) for this shot.

Way to go!
