This Tricolored Heron blended with its environment surprisingly well! This shot doesn't work all that well, with the blue on blue and distracting OOF grass blades, but it fits the motif.

I shot this a few years ago. My D30 was particularly good at delivering images with lots of blue.

This is a nice image Noel. That's cool the way the bird's shadow has somewhat polarized the water where you can see his feet. The only nit I have on this one is the OOF brown foliage in the foreground.

:D You have a real close crop here, it would be better if the bird was looking into, rather than out of the frame. The blues and greens are wonderful and very vibrant.

Aside from a few departures from the "rules", this is a very nice image. The blue on blue works for me. :)

Very nice image, Noel. Perhaps a bit tight on both sides. The grasses work well here.

Thanks all! I used to tend to shoot too tight because I always felt the 3 megapixels of the D30 were not quite enough (though to be honest I never had much trouble making good enlargements). I guess it was a psychological thing... Now with my more recent shots with my 10D I do tend to leave more breathing room.

I like it, especially the window into the water that the bird's shadow provides... Looks a hair contrasty on my monitor...

No doubt that its blue :D And vibrant too! I, too, like the reflection and the feet.

If you follow rules this doesn't work - but hey!! who follows rules!!

I like this image because there is so much to look at, including the fascinating glimpse through the magic reflection window! 8) 8)
