Taken on the Mississippi River in La Crosse, WI. I was able to shoot from above the duck as I stood on the raised bank of the river at a local park. The deep oranges of the background are the result of an excellent sunset reflecting off of the water (yes, that is the water you are looking at). The result was a minimalistic shot that gives me a feeling of "last call" and "heading home". I hope you enjoy it. Feedback and critiques are welcomed.

Excellent silhouette image. The lone duck makes me feel the same as you do - heading home. I like this with the darkest area on top cropped off but still very nice as is. :)

Beautiful shot! Background is perfect, looks like motion blurred to me. It has enough details to be interesting but not too much to distract viewer from the main subject.

Very nice although I might crop the dark area from the top and a little off the right side so the duck's head isn't dead center.

A very nice image! I agree with Bill that cropping the dark band at the top strengthens the image.

I truly love this shot. I can imagine having a big enlargement of it on the wall.

For what it's worth, I tried some "screen cropping" (test cropping by moving the scroll bars) and I like it much better WITH the dark band. It gives the image a foreboding feel from above. As in, "Why is this duck migrading? Foreboding weather coming."
