I figure most are pretty tired of eagle images but I have to post something and will try to make it a bit different from those already posted. (I went to Bosque and never posted a crane or goose!)

Had everything for weather except the snow I love until our last day when we got lucky to catch a squall and a bird on our way to Anchorage.

This is an exceptional image Jim. The falling snow puts it in a class with your owl. I know there are many but everyone knows the one I refer to.

Looks good to me. Exposure is about perfect.

Glad you got home safe.

Jim: You are correct, I am extremely tired of eagle images. (perhaps due in part to jealousy of that Homer trip!)

But I gotta tell you, despite seeing some incredible flight shots, extreme close-ups, awesome environmental shots, etc. . . .This is my absolute favorite! I could tell you it's the snow, the pose, the eye, the framing, etc. But I can't absolutely tell you and that's where photography is truly an artform that is so variably personal. Your photo seems to convey two emotions at the same time, power/strength and peace/calmness. I might want this one on my walls! Sincere congrats :!:

Jim, it was good seeing you in Homer. Glad you got the snow shot, and a beauty at that.

Best,

The snow is perfect! This looks like a trademark Jim Zipp image. Wouldn’t you know it; you get the shot after leaving Homer. It was great to meet and shoot with you in Homer.

Jim,

Awesome image. The falling snow makes this for me. I'm glad you did not shoot his from your barn.

Hi Jim:

LOVELY image!! Beautiful Eagle, moody image. The snow falling and the rounded snowy perch is great! Looks like he landed on the head of a snowman!

I love it!

Great shot! The falling snow really gives this image a unique feel (quite, eagle solitutde perhaps?) and sense of depth.

Cheers!

Nice image Jim. It was great meeting and shooting a bit with you in Homer. I'm jealous given that we had no snow during the week we were there. Moreover, given that you left only shortly before we did (I think), I'm really jealous. I guess that's what we get for hanging around Homer for Chas' slide show.
