This shot was taken the last day of the Jasper STL last month. Four days after I got home I submitted this for a request for a does grazing in snow and the shot will be in a book. It was pretty exciting to sell an image I had only shot 4 days before. Had I been using my film camera that day, the film would have been on its way to the lab!

Canon 10D with 100-400IS @170mm, handheld, ISO 200, 1/400@ f/8.

Sweet shot! This is much better than any I have of her, and I can see why this was sold. I like how she's watching you while grazing.

Excellent shot Cheryl. I like the fact that she is aware of you, but not bothered by you. Mind you, with ears like that she probably heard you coming a long way off :D

And congrats on the sale. 8)

Hey Cheryl,

Very nice image. I was going to say I'd like a little more room at the top and less at the bottom, but I think it works well with the doe centered like this, particularly without being able to see the bottom of those legs. As someone above noted, the eye glance is great, and the sense of habitat, without being too distracting, is great.

Cheers

Carl

love the plain white of the snow, the intense greens of the trees and the flat brown of the doe, very nice.
