Photographing this moose was a real thrill. I was able to get real close, however I remained vigulant for any signs of agitation. E.J. warned me after I got back from Maine about his encounter.

Wow oh wow, this is a tremendous shot! As soon as I saw the smooth bright green background come up first, I thought it was going to be good, but then the full-frame moose with the backlit waterfall is really fantastic. Great job on the exposure... Congratulations!

Really top notch. Great composition, super lighting and great timing for catching this behavior and the water cascading off the head and antlers.

Thats a super shot! Excellent timing on the cascading water. The ripples on the surface are also nice.

The position of the ears is the best indication of a moose state of mind. With their very sharp hearing its unlikely you'll get close before they hear you. So if they're interested or concerned about your presence, the ears will be up and aimed at you. When the ears get laid back, the moose is in the fight mode. You need to back off quickly.

Robert, this sis a wonderful moose image. Try backing off the contrast in PS a bit when posting
