This is one of the foxes that wanders around my property on the way to someplace else. I used to have foxes and fishers that came only at night at my old house. I am lucky that these ones come during the day.

1D2, 100-400 @400, 1/1600 @6.3, ISO 400, hand-held, through the window.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Sweet shot Eleanor. Why is his mouth open? He looks angry obviously but unless your his prey I doubt that's it :D . I think it could go just a bit brighter too.

Well done again, Eleanor; the splotch of nasal snow certainly adds to the photo altho it would be excellent even without it.

NIce portrait! You have a knaack for waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger. The open mouth and snow on the nose is great! It could go a tad brighter on my moniter as well, but that may just be my system.
Good one!

Alright Eleanor, time to confess- are you sitting behind the window in a bunny suit to attract all of the predators??!!

Sweet shot with the snowy nose and open mouth. It does seem a tad dark, even to a guy that prefers a slighty dark image.

Sweet shot-just a bit dark as presented. What a nice backyard you have!

Hi All, Thanks for your comments! I like the bunny suit idea but no. I do, however, save all chicken bones and fat etc in the freezer all year and put it out during January and February when it seems to be hardest for the foxes to get rodents. As soon as it gets warm enough for the racoons to be out and about I stop.

When it is bright out the light reflects off those basement windows and the animals can't see me. I do have a motion sensor with a buzzer that alerts me to visitors. The visitors that set it off include the wild turkeys. It is quite surprising to see what birds are interested in my bait station too.
