Improvements ? Hmmm, get sharp focus on the eyes and a perhaps a little more space on either side ?

Always nice to catch shots of mother and calf together so that is a plus.

The image appears a little soft as presented and would certainly be better sharper, whether this is down to camera shake or just requiring a dose of USM is hard to say. Were they standing on sloping ground? or is the image tilted? I think a slight CCW rotation would help. A little more room all round - especially at the bottom to give more room for the feet would improve this shot, as would a touch of saturation/contrast. You did well to isolate the two of them in this image - usually the herd stay close when babies are around! 8) 8) 8) :)

Great composition. I love how they are looking at each other. I agree about sharpening the shot, as well as paying attention to the sharpness in the eyes.
