I'm sure you all know my penchant for shooting crocs at the waters edge....

Well I nearly got this one very wrong. He was alseep as I got in position. He was asleep as I took the first shot. He opened one eye on the second, turned my way on the third, and this is the fourth. I didn't hang around to see which way he went once he'd disappeared under water

Comments welcome and thanks for looking

This croc looks absolutely menacing. I am not sure I would have stayed around to take the 4th shot. Love the lighting on this and the reflections. Details are great!

Nice shot. The story makes it even better. I wouldn't be hanging at the water's edge either.

I like this one, Dave. I think the low angle really helps out. Good use of composition to a kind of S-shape in the body.

Great composition and lighting. Watch those crocodiles though - it's the one you don't see that grabs you. I could claim some local expertise on the subject as I was born in Ndola, but as I left at the tender age of 3 it would be a bit tenuous :)

Holy cow!! What an unbelievable image!! Easily the best, for me, that I've seen so far from you trip. I think you missed an opportunity here though as the light looks good on the water at the front of the frame you could've caught him as he came out

Gee, thanks John :D

Mind you I'd have to put the extensions tubes on to be able to focus that close...
