Immature Green Tree Python (captive)

Until about 5 years ago I was extremely bothered by snakes. I could not even touch the pages in my reptile field guide that had snakes on them. I decided that was beyond ridiculous and let one of my friends talk me into taking one of Joe McDonald's reptile workshops. After having nightmares about snakes for 3 full weeks after the workshop, I was then able to review my images and flip through the pages of my field guide. Interestingly enough, this was the first workshop I took that ever paid for itself in sales. Go figure!

Super cool. I might crop a bit off the top to balance the image more.

Cheryl, I think this is wonderful! A really nice looking snake, with an excellent composition. I'm really intrigued with this one, although I'm glad its not me he's coiled up on!

Nice image and snake. I'd also crop a bit off the top for better balance and also make the head a bit more defined.

What a beautiful snake, pose, composition and technicals. I like the crop as is since you have the head right at a "powerpoint" in the frame. I wouldn't crop more than 10% of the top for this reason.

Lovely snake, and a lovely image! No shiny spots or anything. One of the most fascinating (to me) aspects of reptiles is the way their eyes often continue the pigment of the surrounding skin, making them hard to find for a predator or prey -- at least I assume that's their purpose. Anyway, this is a good example of that phenomenon.

Cheryl,
Not only is it hard for predators and prey to see their eyes--- it was hard for me and I had to look for a while to recognize the head configuration. I suppose you couldn't ask him/her to look up a bit for the shot? Love the composition and colors.

Now this is bold!
Love that angled comp with nice detail, and I agree that a crop at the top would balance it out a bit and make it stronger.

Great shot Cheryl. I like the very bold colors set up against the black background. Nice diagonal going across a vertical set off against the coils. Very cool shot indeed!

Smoking!!! Like the composition as it stands. Makes it easier to figure where the head/eye is. Like the way the head's turned 90 degrees relative to the rest of the snake.
