Here is one more for captive cat week. This was taken quite a while ago at the Bronx Zoo, NY. The snow leopard was in an outdoor enclosure, with the viewing area behind glass. I shot it with an F5 on Provia 100 pushed one stop. I do not remember the exact data, but the camera was braced with a bogen magic arm to the tripod leg, mirror locked-up, and a cable release used. I believe it was around 1/8, as I did not think any would come out sharp. It lay in the last bit of fading sunlight, allowing only a few images before moving off.

F5, 400 f/2.8AFS w/TC14E
scanned with Nikon LS2000

Best and "Shoot the Light".

This almost looks like a painting the light is so soft. Very cool shot.

I agree that this almost looks like a painting. He looks very pensive in that soft fading light.

Oooo. It's worth a very long look; the fur is so thick, I can feel it and the image so sharp. Nice!

The soft focus effect due to shooting through glass almost gives it a studio intentional soft focus effect. Nicely done!
