Elk
Rocky Mtn National Park, CO
These elk were in a beautiful spot in RMNP and I had a short lens in my pocket to take some environmental shots after the more close up. But the camera stopped working, by the time I figured out it just corrupted a data file the elk was across the road. Next time..

This is a nice image Cindy. The only nit I have is that the OOF elk in the background are a little distracting. I really like the flowers in the field.

I think I took pictures of this same guy. Looks like the flowers popped a couple of days after I left but they were starting to peak in Teton :) which is where I went. You may want to check your colors - remember that trick I told you about - the elks are too cyan and magenta. FWIW, I like the elk in the background but maybe trade a stop of shutter speed for a stop of DOF to bring them a little more in focus. I like the posture of the bull in the fore ground - he looks great and curious.

I really like this image and would have been ecstatic if this opportunity had presented itself when I was there last week. I agree with E.J. that a bit more focus on the background elk would be nice, but not at the expense of the sharpness of the main subject. I like the way the bull's shadow is cast into the frame along the ground, helping to define the foreground plane and frame the background. IMHO, take out the elk in the background and it's just another nice shot of a bull elk placed too far right in the frame, but as it is, it's a great editorial shot. A proud bull elk looking out for his harem. Well done.

I like it! It's very nicely composed. I agree with E.J.'s comments regarding DOF and the color cast. Was this taken at Horseshoe Park?

Love the flowers Cindy and don't mind the group in the back at all. The velvet is wonderful and I don't have any nits other than the color which has already been mentioned. Nice motif post..

A really nice Elk image Cindy. I like the group in the background as I think they add a lot to the image. However, it would have been nice with some more DOF.

Excellent!

Gorgeous image with the flowers and the velvet. I think that the girls in the BG really add to this. Nice job.

Cindy this is a great shot...I like it just the way it is. I also shot that bull a couple of weeks ago, I love it up there.
