Mule Deer - Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico, USA
EOS 1D, 600mm, 1/100, f/4, ISO 320

It was getting pretty dark as I was making my last trip around the Farm Loop at Bosque in November 2002 when I came upon a herd of Mule deer - I had to shoot them in deep shade using my window as a camera/lens support.

Nice one EJ. I like that look back over the shoulder. Nice BG colors.

Great range for a back-lit shot. I like the composition.

Way to go EJ. The background is incredibly nice!.. I like the pose and you certainly featured the all important ears here. Not to nitpick but there is a little tiny bug or white spot just ahead of and a little left of the left ear... Otherwise faultless as usual..

The blurred background with those gorgeous colors are a great contrast to the mule deer. Great job!

Love the reverse over the shoulder look. Most time you might see the turn towards you.

That's mighty sturdy window you have the sharpness is superb.

Excellent shot E.J.! I can also see a great square crop of just the head, with a perfect diagonal created by the nose and upper right ear! 8) :)
