Can anyone look at this face and question that this is an intelligent creature. I spent some time with this beauty at the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo this morning. After our exercise of signing and a game of "let me look at your watch", I snapped this shot. After looking at this shot later, it saddens me. These creatures need much more stimulus than the zoo keepers can possibly provide. Although, with their future in the wild being threatened, I'm at a loss for a solution.

Well done Scott. The heavy brow on primates can make getting light into the eye tough and you did well here IMHO. Your subject does have a distant look, and the zoo situation is a complex one for sure, with conservation of species and education hopefully on the positive side of the equation.. Thanks for sharing Scott.

Cool shot Scott. This reminds me of an old man just taken it easy on a Sunday afternoon. Nice shot.

Scott, this is an an effective image. You did a fine kob handling what many would consider a tough exposure. I would select and dodge the eyes a bit for printing.

Best,

Chas

There definitely seems to be an expression on its face, a sad one. This image evokes emotion, nicely done.

To me the expression is more of one of annoyance with being disturbed from a rest. Whatever the expression is, it was captured well.

I like this. I am always fascinated by the expressions we can read into primates faces. We are pretty specialized that way.

I like the way this shot really draws you in to the Chimp's face. Perfect title.
