Caracal - (c) Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
Minolta X700, 500 f/8 Reflex, K64

The light here is a bit harsh and its a very old shot taken at the Rio Grande Zoo about 20 years ago but its a cat I haven't seen posted during this week's motif so I thought I'd dig it out of the vault.

Thanks for the post, and I don't think I have seen this cat here before. I really enjoy reading the technicals. We've all come a long way.....

Cool cat. Interesting technicals. I bet the K64 tranny looks as good as the day it was processed.

Beautiful portrait, E.J. Ideal background for this cat. Tack sharp. I would perferred that the cat were looking into the lens more but they have a tendency not to listen.

A very elusive cat in the wild, and I don't think we have many captive ones this side of the pond, so I'll settle for looking at this one :)

Gorgeous shot, beautiful cat.

love the subject against dark bg. for a 20 year old shot with equipment I don't recognize this one stands the test of time.

A shot like this where we see the cat turning its ears gives us a glimpse into the personality of the animal. I enjoyed that.

This one's eyes are very interesting.

Thanks for posting a different cat for this weeks motif. The shot seems to have held up well over 20 years.
