While visiting the fantastic Tucson Desert Museum again last weekend I shot primarily birds. I had reasonable early morning light when this ram posed on the top of his rock enclosure.
Canon 10D, Canon 400/2.8 + 1.4 TC; ISO 400, 1/640 @ f 11. Ambient light. Gitzo and Wimberly.
Any and all critiques, reposts welcome.

Nice portrait of a good looking ram. My only nit is the merging with the BG which is of similar color and is therefore somewhat distracting.

Nice portrait of a BH! Looks like you are having some fun down there. Could easily darken background elements in PS to increase separation if desired..

Hi Joe---what a beautiful animal and such flawless horns!! I like the sharpness and contrast. I don't know if you could have gotten a little more to the right to shoot against sky so the chin would not merge with the rock or maybe a vertical that showed more rock and animal, but for this image, I might consider darkening some of that rock.

Very nice portrait, Joe -- a classic pose and I like how this brings out the detail in his horns. I agree with the suggestions on the background.

Very nice shot, excellent pose and detail. Just the BG nit as already mentioned. 8) :)
