The wintering sparrows are starting to show up again and I'm looking forward to some more practice with these guys. This was taken last Jan. in a farm field near Willcox, AZ. Cropped about 10% left and top.
Canon D30, 600mm f4 (borrowed!), 2x, beanbag on window mount, no flash (never forget your big glass when planning to shoot little birds.. )

Very cute. Nice to see immature birds in drabber colors.

Hi Cindy, this is a good shot to practice some PS techniques on - notice how the white feathers are blue!? The gray on the head is also a bit toward blue.

:? I checked the white on the post- in the area where it is white- argh! OK so here's an attempt to get the color right: (looks like I should've sharpened a bit again..)

Better - maybe a bit too far and yes a bit more sharpening probably would be good. Practice makes perfect :)

The repost looks great! This is so perfect for this week's motif. I like the way the branches are taking over the barbed wire fence. I also really like the smooth background.
