As Greg said and most experts in the industry agree - anything beyond 1440 DPI is just marketing hype to try to sell more printers and give the market the perception that you are getting a better print. The difference is not discernible with the human eye and I would bet you couldn't even tell with a good microscope :)

Epson doesn't disclose what besides the interface is included in the new drivers but the printer seems slightly faster although short of uninstalling the new drivers and reinstalling the old ones I have no way or desire to test that.

This thread has been the most helpful I have ever read regarding how to print to the 2200 from PhotoShop. The screen snapshots make all the difference.

Thank you all!!!

Thanks Walter. Glad to help. We are going to have to archive this one. ;)

I agree, this thread has been very helpful. I don't own a 2200, just the lowly 1270 (beaten to h$## by its previous owner). But the screenshots mostly apply. Thanks again...

I just updated my drivers to the new interface ... is the "minimize margins" setting the same as the old "maximum" setting? And why choose "Photo" instead of "Best Photo"?

For the interface for my 960 (which I suspect is pretty similar), I think the only difference is that Best Photo sets 2880 dpi, while Photo sets 1440 dpi. I don't know if it does anything else, but it seems that when I switch resolutions, the quality setting changes automatically, and vice versa.

It's "Best" for Espon, since you'll have to buy more ink, but people have stated that it doesn't make any real difference to the print itself.

Ahhh, I just tried printing and realized that Best Photo switched the dpi to 2880. Thanks Paul.
