Iguana
Captive
EOS300D, Sigma 180mm F3.5 Macro,

We went around our favourite Wildlife Park at the weekend. The temperature was only just above freezing and as the park is on a hill, the wind was enough to cut you in half at times. We were ok for a couple of hours but then retreated into the warmth of the indoor Tropical House to thaw out and found this guy just asking to have his picture taken. When the camera lens had adjusted to the change in temperature and stopped steaming up, I took this one. Hope you like him!

All comments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

Carol,

The detail in the iguanas scales is incredible. I think I would like to see more of the iguana and less of the background in this one. Maybe a little higher in the frame to include the front "elbow". Do Iguanas have elbows? :)

A very nice image.

Wonderful shot. I really enjoy the head turn back to the camera. Exposure is dead on and sharp as a tack through and through.. Well done Carol!

Came back for another look -this is so cool. I really like the depth provided by the vegetation in the background.. Super!

Incredible detail and I too really like the over the shoulder pose. I have the stick behind the back of the head to be a minor distraction. Very cool shot.

I have to say I've never been attracted to an iguana but you have captured this one very, very well. This is so cool!

Carol, you actually made an iguana look cute! It really seems to be a ham for the camera, especially with the over-the-shoulder pose. The exposure and sharpness are perfect.

Awesome shot- the detail and depth are incredible! I think the composition is perfect- wouldn't change a thing.
