The Elk is great but the background competes too much with the Antlers in my opinion.

Dick, great subject and I love the fall colors in the background. Too bad about the branches and in light of the above comments, I was wondering about whether the background could be blurred in PS or darkened or both to bring the subject out of the environment a little, providing the separation of the horns from the branches. Thanks for your consistent posts here...

Dennis, I wondered that myself but I am not that into PS manipulation.

I think there is some competition with the branches but, this is a shot in the wild and, as such, we take it as they come. What I think might also help is if this was squared so as to bring down the top.

sure it is a tough background. It is great example of the country big bulls spend most of there time in, good job.
