I'm not thrilled with the out-of-focus vegetation in the foreground, but still like her face.

Cheryl's EOS 3 (THANKS! ), probably my 28-135 IS, handheld, Provia. Cropped some of the left side and top from the slide, but wish I hadn't cropped her feet and left shoulder in the camera. Hammer away! Thanks for your critiques.

I can't decide whether I like this better with the lower third or so cropped to a square Just a thought.

I am jealous that you got this bugger so close!

The crop works for me as is, my only wish is for a slight head turn toward camera. Still, very nicely done.

Love the stance of the deer though i wish the plant in the fg were more in focus here.

I like the crop but do wish that she hadn't turned her head quite as much.

The looking away pose does not bother me. It is different but I think since she was looking out for her baby it works.. I just did my slide show for Bosque. It included a baby mule deer looking completely back into the frame up a path, not anywhere close to the usual pose but I kept it because I liked it.. Thanks for posting..

I love the pose here Kelly and the excellent detail in the Doe. For my personal taste I like a crop just to the base of her neck but that's just me!!

I really like the angle of the pose, I would not want a change of the pose angle, very nice
