I made this photo in June this year when I was in Prince Edward Island National Park. There was one fox familly foraging around the main road. I jumped out of the car and spend an hour with them. It was late afternoon, lot's of trees and shadows around. I like this photo, because only the fox is in light while the BG is in shade. Also I like the face expression - she was watching 3 young foxes which were playing around.

EOS 10D + 400/5.6L + probably some extensions

Thanks for looking

Sweet shot Fero. I like the lighting and her expression. I hope we get to see a shot of the kits as well.

Another fine fox image Fero.. Thanks for posting... I like the way the background is dark also and the composition, looking across the frame.. Excellent!

Beautifully done! It doesn't look like much escapes those watchful and experienced eyes.

If you look at the background, it almost looks like a studio shot! :D

Hey Fero,

this is So cool. There's some mood in this image which defies description (from me, anyway!) .. just a beautiful shot of a gorgeous creature. there's something in her eyes that moves me. Love it.

Cheers

Love that look and the composition; you're correct that the darker background works very well here. Might take a bit more USM.

This is tremendous, Fero -- she's beautifully posed and a warmly lit subject against a dark background is my favorite lighting for wildlife. A crop from the left down to 4x5 proportion might also work well.
